Mark Leong began his career with Northwestern Mutual before he knew what hit him.  Mark was looking for multiple internships that would help him figure out what type of career he wanted to go into.  He started the internship with the Northwestern Mutual in 2011 and immediately fell in love with the career.  Mark jumpstarted his career by earning the Power of 10 award during his internship and never looked back.  He quickly discovered why Northwestern Mutual was named as having one of America’s “Top 10 Internships” sixteen consecutive times since 1997 according to Vault Magazine 2012 (formerly the Princeton Review).

After graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Mark converted to a full-time Financial Representative contract.  In his first year full-time with Northwestern Mutual, Mark earned the Bronze award, which is given to representatives in their first year for successful business growth.

Mark earned his Best Year Ever award for 2013-2014.  In Mark’s second year, he earned the Silver award, which is given to representatives in their second year for further successful business growth.  In 2014, Mark accepted the offer to join the office Leadership Team as the College Unit Director.  As the College Unit Director, Mark helps recruit, teach, and coach the college interns year round.  He has a passion for helping the interns grow and realize their true potential because he himself got his business started in the internship.

Associations and Memberships

As a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Mark Leong joins 70,000 professional advisors in promoting ethical conduct and sound business skills.

NAIFA is a national nonprofit organization representing insurance and financial advisors nationwide, through its federation of over 900 state and local associations. Founded in 1890, NAIFA is the nation's largest financial services membership association.
